Welder / Pipefitter – Mechanical Services

Up to £40,000 plus overtime and van – plus many company benefits!

I am currently working with a large, leading industrial boiler and burner service and maintenance provider, predominantly operating within the industrial sector and continually growing organically and through acquisition.

They are seeking a Welder / Piperfitter to join their team near Leeds where their workshop is based but their customer sites are National. As the role of Welder / Pipefitter you will be responsible for on-site pipe fitting and welding as required for the installation of steam boilers and ancillary plant, or other mechanical services.

Personal duties;

• Ø Assisting the Project Manager with the planning of pipe system layouts and installing according to specifications.
• Ø Using the appropriate tools/equipment required for installation in a safe manner in line with the health and safety policy and procedures.
• Ø Modifying and maintaining pipe systems as per the specifications provided.
• Ø Carrying out inspection and test of all installed pipe work in a safe manner in line with the health and safety policy and procedures.
• Ø Evaluating and resolving technical problems.
• Ø Providing technical support to customers and colleagues.
• Ø Providing customers with regular reports and feedback on their service requests, including the completion of relevant paperwork.
• Ø Developing and maintaining relationships with customers.
• Ø Ensuring compliance with the company’s health and safety, quality and environmental procedures.
• Ø Participation in paid overtime and weekend work.
• Ø Ensuring compliance with the company’s health and safety, quality and environmental procedures in accordance with legislation and the company policies.

It is essential that you hold a full driving license and have the ability to read and correctly interpret drawings. It is also essential that you have a strong proven engineering background within the combustion industry/boiler house maintenance as a field based engineer within a pipe fitting and welding role.

Desirable

• Ø City and Guilds in Plumbing, Pipework Erection, Pipework Fabrication and/or NVQ Level 3 in related trade.
• Ø Welding certification to current British standards; MMA and tig.
• Ø Gas qualifications; COCPI1 (LS), ICPN1, TPCP1, TPCP1A.
• Ø IOSH Working Safely and/or Safety passport.

A competitive basic salary up to £40,000 is offered with an OTE with overtime expected to reach £50,000. The company also offer a good number of benefits.
